Shawn has been a motivational speaker and leadership expert for nearly 15 years. He uses his understanding of human development, experience gained while working with educational institutions and corporations, to deliver presentation enriched with practical experience. Shawn’s presentation style is entertaining, humorous, energetic and fun sprinkled with innovative ideas that far exceed the expectations of his audiences.
Understanding the needs of clients is the number one priority. Shawn has spent more than a decade working with Student Activities Directors and Academic Advisors in efforts to provide programs that meet student’s needs.
Shawn was a student that struggled throughout elementary, middle and high school, often received poor grades, and sometimes contemplated dropping out of school. It was his strong desire to be a college graduate that would not allow him to give up. To get his motivation back Shawn joined the US Army where he gained solid leadership skills and self-confidence. He eventually graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree
in Political Science.
Shortly after college, Shawn worked for Anheuser Busch as a Marketing Director. Transitioning from Anheuser Busch to Miller Brewing Company, Shawn advanced to Territory Manager where he soared to the top of the Sales Team within his first year with the company. During his employment with Miller Brewing Company Shawn had a paradigm shift and discovered his passion for public speaking. Shortly after he realized his passion that Shawn Ramey Worldwide was born.
Soon after starting his own company he joined Toastmaster International and started speaking at colleges, universities, high schools, elementary schools, non-profit organizations and sales groups within the
Chicago-land area.
In 2005, Shawn became a certified trainer with Fred Pryor National Training Company headquartered in Kansas and Making It Count located in Ohio. Shawn traveled the country speaking, inspiring and teaching college students and professionals. He facilitated programs that ranged from Time Management to Leadership Skills. In 2007 Shawn stepped away from Fred Pryor Seminars to concentrate on working to assist in the enhancement of the educational experiences of students. |
